Once again, we love a hop so much, we had no choice but to name a beer after it. Simcoe’s been around since 2000, making it a classic hop of the West Coast IPA. There’s been plenty of hops that have made a splash since then, but Simcoe has a certain... je ne sais quoi that keeps us coming back for more.

Old Jetty is back!

There are but few moments in life when the slightest whiff or sip of a libation causes one to pause a moment and thank their lucky stars they’re a beer drinker. We like to think Old Jetty Barleywine fits that bill. Its strength is only surpassed by not just its beauty, but also the true craftsmanship behind it.

Our favorite El Segundo event is right around the corner on Sunday 12/10 from 1pm-3pm, yes we’re talking about the annual @elsegundochamber Holiday Parade! Which can only mean one thing... the three-time award winning “The Stocking Stuffers,” a.k.a. “The World’s Greatest Brewery Christmas Parade Band in the entire Universe” will be playing in the parade as Mrs. Claus’s official parade escort!

But the fun does stop there because the official after-party starts in our taproom at 2pm and here’s what’s on the agenda:
-“The Stocking Stuffers” performing “all the hits!”
-Have a Christmas Break with Mrs. Claus, @suzyray!
-Heck, have an Old Jetty with the band!

Buuuut the better part of this story may be the can art done by Casey Montz of @caseymontzdesigns , which features El Segundo’s very own Suzy Ray, a fixture in the town’s annual Christmas Parade as Mrs. Claus... and she’s been known to make the occasional appearance in our taproom as herself. Check out the behind-the-scenes photo of Suzy in full Mrs. Claus mode, modeling for the can art. She certainly turned some heads wearing this in October.

Last year, we decided to brew a Hop Harvest IPA in celebration of the annual harvest and all the growers, brewers, and tradesmen that have played a part in what makes the West Coast IPA what it is today. And we loved it so much, we decided this release should be an annual tradition!

This year’s Inspiration took us to Loza Farms, where Junior hand-selected two bales of Citra hops for us. The crew at Single Hill Brewing gave us a huge assist, getting these “FreshAF” hops processed and packaged on the spot; we did our part by getting them into our kettles as quickly as possible. Enjoy your first tastes of the 2023 Citra crop, we hope you’re as excited as we are!

Hops- Loza Farms Citra, Chinook, Amarillo, Simcoe
ABV- 7.2%
